Easter in Cornwall

We have just got back from a week in Somerset and Cornwall. We spent Easter Saturday night at Graham's and then travelled to Cornwall on the Sunday. Oliver got to spend quality time with his two cousins, Aunty Steph, Nanna and Funny Michael as well as Grandad Graham. He was thoroughly spoiled and got to see the sea for the first time.

Oliver has come on in leaps and bounds over the past week (must be the Cornish air and all the sleeping he did!). His babbling is turning into more defined words and I swear he is trying to say "mama"!!! He is nearly crawling as well. He is great at doing little bunny hops and is slowly working out that he can go forward as well as back!! Jon is hoping the crawling doesn't start before he gets back from Minneapolis next weekend but I don't think it'll be too long now. I have a great video of him crawling and talking but I have tried since yesterday to upload it with no success :-( I'll keep trying! Oliver is also much stronger at sitting and can be left in a sitting position for quite a long time now. He doesn't really like laying in the bath anymore and uses all his strength to try and sit up!!

7 month bouncing video!!

Today is Oliver's 7 month birthday so I took a video of him bouncing!! We are off to meet with the Babycentre mummies and babies this morning - once Oliver wakes up from his nap. All that bouncing tired him out!!

Hi everyone!! Sorry it's been so long since the last post - we have been so busy over here!! Anyway, Oliver has really mastered the art of rolling over the past few days - hence the title of this entry! You really need to have eyes in the back of your head at the moment. He even likes to roll over in the bath but he is clever enough to know that the head needs to be lifted out of the water, LOL!! He is also getting stronger at sitting but is still a little wobbly. 

Oliver will turn 7 months old in just a few days so we'll be moving on to more interesting food including dairy, meat and fish. Today he ate some bun from a burger and seemed to like that. He was really good at chewing on it and it had come from a meaty burger which he seemed to like :-)

I got Oliver weighed a couple of weeks ago and he came in at 19lbs 7oz!! I am now starting to feel it when I take him out in the carrier to walk Scoop. But once he gets moving he'll probably be lighter again!! He is just the cutest little boy with the most kissable cheeks so I don't give two hoots about his weight - he's just gorgeous!!

I have tried uploading a video but it's taking forever. I will try and get a shorter video and upload that next time!

My first Mother's Day!!

On Sunday it was Mother's Day here in the UK and I got my first cards from my little boy!! He made one at nursery which had his footprints on it and I got a lovely card which had photos of the two of us. Too bad he spent the day being crabby!!

This week I am off work so I am enjoying my time hanging out with Oliver. He is so chatty these days and he has learned to shake his head from side to side which he seems to think is the funniest thing. I don't think he's worked out it means "no" yet!! Yesterday he rolled from his back to his front and back again for the first time. I missed the second part of it though! He is very strong when on his belly and can push himself high up off the ground. We have started our second term of swimming which he still seems to enjoy. He can splash in the water with his hands very well and sometimes kicks his legs although he prefers to stare at the flags hanging from the ceiling!! In two weeks time Jon gets to go with him as I have to work so he is coming this week to learn all the songs, LOL!!!

Aaah, the poor little guy is crying behind me - must be nap time!! Oh, and we'd like to officially welcome the arrival of Jennifer and Matt's daughter - Mikayla Rae - who arrived on Feb 29th - how cool is that??!!!!

Half a year old!

Yesterday Oliver celebrated his 6 month birthday!! I have no idea where that time has gone :-) Jon and I were both at work so Oliver had to celebrate at nursery but I think he had a pretty good day. He is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes now which shows he is growing up nicely!

Last weekend we travelled down to Somerset and had a lovely family weekend. We stayed with Graham who met Oliver for the first time. Mum popped up for a visit on the Saturday and we spent time with the Curry family too. A busy time but great fun and Oliver really enjoyed seeing everyone. Enjoy the photos (sorry some are big - don't know why!)!

Growing up!

Well, as the title suggests our little boy is growing up fast!! This week he has started wearing his 6-9 month tops and socks. He's still not quite there in his trousers but his other tops were definitely getting a bit snug! And he has a very sharp piece of tooth on his bottom gum so it won't be long until the whole thing comes through. I finally got Oliver weighed last Thursday and he is 18lbs 6oz!

I had to work over the weekend so Oliver and Daddy had some bonding time. Daddy bought a door bouncer for Oliver which he seems to like although his toes only just touch the ground!

Oliver is still getting on great at nursery. But I miss him like crazy and try to make the most of my days off with him. I am off this weekend though and looking forward to having some fun with my two boys!!
