Growing so fast!

I took Emily to see the doctor on Friday. She had been quite sick and unhappy at the end of last week so I decided to get her checked out. Turns out she may have a mild case of reflux so we have some medicine for her which seems to have helped a little. Anyway, things can't be all bad because she now weighs 11lbs 11oz so she's put on well over 2lbs since she was born. She's starting to smile properly and even trying to turn over. She tried in the bath last night which wasn't too clever as she wasn't best pleased at having a drink in there ;)

Nanna finally made it home on Friday of last week having left here on the Thursday (a week late). I know she is very glad to be back at home but we enjoyed having her here for an extra week. Oliver particularly enjoyed having her to play cars and trains with :) I was worried about how he would react once he realised Nanna had gone home but he's done really well and says "Nanna home big plane" quite a lot :))

Nanna got to enjoy a couple of play dates with us - one at a friend's house and a visit to the zoo. Oliver wasn't too into the zoo and certainly wanted nothing to do with feeding the baby animals! He did, however, enjoy sitting on the tractor there!

At swimming on Saturday we were told that Oliver can move up to the next class for the summer session which is great news. Daddy will go in the pool with him for the first four weeks but after that Oliver will be in there just with the teacher. Should be interesting!!

Yesterday some good friends of mine held a baby shower for me which was really lovely. Emily got some lovely presents and super cute clothes :)

I took the kids and Scoop for a walk yesterday afternoon. I carry Emily in the sling and when I took her out she stayed in this position for the longest time!

I tried putting Emily in the Bumbo this morning. This picture was taken shortly before the tears came......

Nanna's visit

Nanna arrived about 10 days ago and she should have gone home yesterday but I'm sure most of you have heard about the volcano in Iceland...... Well, her flight yesterday was cancelled about 15 minutes before we were going to set off for the airport. A couple of hours later we had managed to get her flight rearranged but she is not leaving until Monday. So, we are getting a few extra days with her which is lovely :)

We have had a very relaxing time really. Nanna has been playing cars a lot with Oliver and taking him for walks and to the playground. She even taught him how to play pooh sticks so that is a new thing he likes to do! And bath time with Nanna is a real hit with Emily. She really didn't enjoy it when I bathed her but it seems Nanna has the knack!!

Emily is growing more and more each day. She just likes to eat - and eat - oh, and eat a bit more!! She is starting to smile properly a little bit now. It's hard to catch it on camera at the moment but we're getting there!

Earlier this week I treated myself to a new digital piano. It's something I've wanted for a while and seeing as Jon got his pool table it was my turn for a toy!! Oliver has played a little on it but he seems to prefer all the flashing lights than the actual sounds - he turns the volume down most of the time (maybe it's my playing - I'm out of practice).

Lots more pictures and videos for you as always.......

Life is hard for one so young

Easter

We have had a really fun Easter weekend. Grandpa Ray and Grandma Sandy did an Easter egg hunt for the kids on Saturday morning which was so much fun. It was a little breezy to do it outside but Oliver and Mikayla had fun hunting for eggs in the basement instead!! And then it was even more fun opening them all and finding all the surprises inside :)

The weather has been pretty fantastic recently so Oliver has had some time to play outside. He is really loving the playhouse now and he is great at climbing the ladder (see the video). I almost have a heart attack every time he climbs as I'm worried he's going to lose his footing but (touch wood) it hasn't happened yet! He's also spent some time down at the playground. His favourite game the other day was hiding pine cones in the sand!

Emily is doing great. She is sleeping well at night and waking up every 3 hours or so. It feels like I've been asleep for 5 minutes every time she does wake up though!!! She is really strong. I got a video of her having tummy time and you can see how she's trying to move already.

Nanna Pan flies into Minneapolis today for a 10 day visit. We are so excited to see her and I'm sure she can't wait to have some time with the grandkids :))

Daddy having as much fun on the playhouse as Oliver!

Oliver's friend Rowen came to visit on Friday and this is where we found them......

Rowen doesn't look so excited about the baby :)
