Long weekend :)

It's a holiday weekend and Jon took Thursday and Friday off so a nice long weekend too :) We don't have anything exciting planned but it's great just to have some family time.

As always I have a load of photos to share and a few videos too. Oliver is singing in most of the videos - he likes to make up songs now about different coloured cars, trains, diggers - anything really! I think the two videos on the swing contain songs about a train and a little fly :) Emily is also finding her voice as you will hear in the video of her. The sleeping is still going great and she seems to be a bit happier during her awake time now. She just loves seeing Oliver - she is almost guaranteed to smile as soon as she sees him :)

Oliver was very excited to get some new shoes at the weekend. He got new sandals which he likes to call "fast ones". Don't ask me why - he just came up with it! We also went and bought a few new toys yesterday and he got a big set of new cars which is obviously the favourite toy right now. However, any toy which made a noise did not go down well. Strange, but true.

Oliver insisted I take a picture of him eating waffles :)

Cute snail outfit that Grandma Sandy got for Emily

Here Emily - look at bear. You know you want to :)

So much better!

Things are a million times better than last time I posted - thank goodness!! Oliver is in a much, much better mood which makes for happier times all around. I just wonder if we are in for a treat of tantrums like that every 6 weeks! Whatever - we will enjoy the good times :)

So, the weather here has been totally fantastic for the past week or so. We have spent time outside every day playing with the water table, in the swimming pool, in the playhouse, on the trike..... you name it!! Emily has been lounging outside on the rug enjoying the great outdoors with us :) The good weather is set to continue for a little while yet so more good times ahead.

On Tuesday I took Emily for her 8 week check. She got 3 separate shots in her legs which she wasn't too happy about but the crying was fairly brief then she was all sleepy! She now weighs an amazing 13lbs 4oz and is 23 inches long (95th and 75th centiles respectively). Her sickness continues to be much better feeding from the bottles. But, best of all, she has started sleeping through the night :))) She built up gradually doing 7pm - 5am then 7pm - 6am and now goes from 7pm - 7am (well, it's more like 6:30pm - 7:30am!!). It's just fantastic to feel more rested although I don't get to sleep in that late ;) I am truly lucky to have two such good sleepers and I hope it continues.

Oliver is being such a lovely big brother at the moment. I keep getting such cute pictures of the pair of them :) I apologise to those people on Facebook as you've probably seen most of these photos before but I am so proud of my kids - I have to show them off :) Oliver is 33 months old today and Emily will be 2 months old tomorrow!
