3 months old

So Emily is 3 months old today!!! But that's about the only thing we have to celebrate today as we have a house full of sick people. Well, I'm the only one who is OK because I was sick on Saturday! Oliver and Jon are sick today and I'm not too sure about Emily - she may have been the instigator as she kept throwing up all over me a few days ago! Oh joy :) Anyway, enough about all that.

As you can see, young Emily has figured out how to suck her thumb! It's still a bit hit and miss but when she gets it she just loves it. And she looks so cute of course :) And she's still practising the rolling - she can get halfway now!

Oliver has started swimming lessons on Tuesday nights now and so far so good. He's learning some new stuff and getting to wear his new goggles which is so exciting! Of course, they are his "fast goggles". Jon took him to McDonald's afterwards for dinner which is a rare occurrence as he doesn't really eat it but he was eventually persuaded to try his chicken nugget and then scoffed the lot!

On Saturday we went to the Parktacular in St Louis Park. Jennifer and Matt were playing a concert and performing in the parade so we watched Mikayla while they did that. The kids hung out at the playground and then went to the petting zoo that was set up there and fed the animals. Amazingly Oliver was quite into it (he didn't want anything to do with this a few months ago at the zoo).

Yesterday was Father's Day and, despite the sickness, we managed a couple of hours at a local beach which Oliver loved. He was a bit wary of the fish in the lake water to begin with but by the time we had to leave of course he wanted to stay longer!! It was a great place though and I think we'll go back.

Anyway, it's back to the crabby kids for me! Emily is whining at me in her chair because I'm typing this rather than talking to her ;)

Oliver wanted his portrait taken with his honey bear :)

It's not often that Oliver falls asleep in the car these days....

Oliver had so much fun with the playdoh at this playdate

Memorial Day

Grandpa Ray, Grandma Sandy, Matt, Jennifer and Mikayla came for a visit on Memorial Day so the kids got to be their usual silly selves. They had fun playing in the garden and dancing indoors (see the videos). As you can tell Mikayla is way more extrovert than Oliver as she is the one who wants to dance with him and Oliver is more concerned about his bear blankie!!

Not too much else to report really. Emily is still growing like crazy and is almost ready to roll over although she likes to try this out in the bath so you have to watch her like a hawk!! I get the joy of taking Oliver to the doctor's tomorrow to get his hearing checked out. During the week Emily was born he had a hearing test done at school which he failed in one ear. He was having an awful week anyway so we put it down to that but some other things have come up since so we are getting it checked out. Anyhow, I shall go armed with treats (bribes) and hope that he doesn't have too bad a meltdown!

This weekend sees the last of Oliver's Saturday morning swim lessons. He will then move up a class and go on Tuesday evenings. We'll see how this works out!

And birthday wishes are going out this week to Grandpa Ray, Zachary (big 1st birthday!) and Nanna Pan (even bigger 60th birthday!!!). Have wonderful birthdays everyone :)

Cute!

Cheeky :))

Oliver in his tie-dye t-shirt and baggy jeans!!

Aunty Steph bought this top for Emily and she looks so cute in it - red suits her :)

Scoop enjoying her new cushion. Daddy and Oliver took a trip to the pet shop over the weekend and Oliver chose this one after trying several cushions out!

Emily is staring at the array of toys we have in the bath!

On her 11 week birthday!

We found Oliver's old play nest in the basement and put it up for Emily. She seems to enjoy much more than Oliver ever did!

Although he seems much more interested in it now he's nearly 3!

Yep, Emily gets pushed out and Oliver jumps in :) And one day I'll get a picture when Oliver isn't sucking his thumb!
