Cupboards!

Well, as I mentioned in the last post Oliver has started opening cupboards and finds them the most fascinating things ever!! Ray and Sandy have one cupboard full of tupperware and we try to confine him to that one cupboard but of course all the others are far more interesting!! The other day Sandy and I caught him climbing into the warming drawer of the oven which fortunately wasn't on! It's great that he's so inquisitive but we're really going to have to think about where we put things in the new house.

We had a busy weekend seeing Grandma, Niki and Katherine and it was also Mikayla's baptism. Mikayla was so good - fast asleep at the point of the actual baptism but after a little cry she was quite content again. And Oliver didn't squeal too much in church! This weekend we are catching up with Niki again before she goes back to the UK and seeing Katherine's new place in Edina. Then it is Father's Day on Sunday so we'll celebrate that in some way.

One of these days I must get Oliver giggling on video. If someone in the room laughs (or even if Mikayla is crying) Oliver laughs in response! He is quite the copycat and it's hilarious. He has great comic timing already :-)

This week we will complete on the new house. Obviously we don't have any broadband connection there yet so there may be a delay in posting but I'm sure I can pop over here to get that done if I need to!!

Super cheesy grin!

Standing up

Well, Oliver's new thing is definitely standing up!! He has really got the hang of it now and likes to stand up using anything - windowsills, tables, cupboard doors, sofa, people's legs......you name it!!! I did finally manage to get a video which is at the end of this entry. Yesterday Oliver stood up at the cupboard under the sink in the kitchen and the next thing I know he pulled out the washing up liquid! We'll be buying some cabinet locks for the new house then :-)

Last week I took my driving theory test and thankfully passed it! The bad news is I have to wait a while for the actual road test. The first one I booked wasn't until the 31st July but I was able to get a different one on 3rd July. I kept the other one just incase I fail (well, it took me two times to pass in England!!). I also got my permanent residents card in the post yesterday so the Americans are letting me stay for a while!!

We are looking forward to a busy weekend with Mikayla's baptism on Sunday and seeing Niki and Katherine on Saturday. Let's hope the weather holds out - more storms expected today :-(

I'm gonna get that duck!!

Oliver had me and Jennifer in fits with this one!! Obviously a very tasty duck's bottom!!

Cool dude in my shades!! But the only way he would keep them on for the photo was with Jon holding his arms down!
