Sorry for the delay!

Ooops! Where did a whole month go?? Sorry about that!! Well, I can tell you that most of my spare time has been taken up doing the garden. We have pulled weeds, laid new mulch (115 bags of it!), transferred plants, made the horseshoe pit usable again (more weeding) and planted a few new flowers. The project is nearly all done - we just need to lay some new turf where there once was a tree and put some grass seed down on the bare patches and we should be good. At which point I will probably need to start weeding again!!! The weather has been very co-operative so the kids have enjoyed plenty of time outside and "helping" with the outdoor work.

Emily is well and truly settled in at school now. We rarely have tears at drop off although she does love to give me a sad face when I walk out of the door. But she is always happy when I pick her up and her teachers say she plays well with the other children and tries to talk to them although she still isn't very understandable :)

Oliver is into his last 3 weeks at preschool which I can barely believe. I am excited and nervous for the next stage of his life but I think he will do well. We had a introduction to kindergarten night a few weeks ago where he got to spend time in one of the classrooms while the parents had a chat with the principal. He loved it in there and was thrilled to see the playground! The one issue we had was with the school bus - he has always said he wanted to take the bus to school but when we took him to see the one they had there he got scared and Daddy had to carry him on board! He was fine once he was on there so hopefully just a little glitch. Whatever happens we always have the option of driving him to school!

The school photographer was in a few weeks ago and we got some great pics of the kids including one together which is further down the page. Emily did a wonderful job considering it was her first time. Too bad next time Oliver won't be there to help her out.

My friend Niki came into town for work and a visit on Friday so we had a lovely chilled out weekend with her. Oliver was, as always, excited to go to the airport although he couldn't understand why we didn't have our suitcases. Even at 4.5 years of age I find myself repeating the same thing over and over again and he still doesn't get it. Or maybe it's just getting worse than before ;) Oh, and the current obsession is Angry Birds which is slowly driving me insane. Maybe I mentioned that last time - I forget! Sigh. But if anyone out there needs birthday present ideas.......

More news next time I'm sure as Oliver starts his pre-kindergarten summer camp and Emily tackles preschool all by herself :)
