Time at home

Things have been quiet on the play date front recently so we have spent quite a lot of time hanging out at home. It would have been nice if Oliver had taken to potty training in that time but, alas, no!! He throws a bit of a tantrum if we even suggest sitting on the potty. He is wearing pull ups now but he doesn't realise that he should at least try sitting on the potty. Maybe he's just not ready yet (but we are!!).

Emily has become quite a pro at rolling from her back to her tummy. She does it pretty much every time we lay her on the floor now. She is at the point of getting frustrated because she can't move forwards! But she can move backwards a long way and I often find her with her legs stuck under the sofa!! I don't think it'll be too long before she figures it out though. She can certainly do a mean push up as well!! I think one of her top teeth may be breaking through now. I had a little peek earlier and it definitely looked like it.

Oliver is doing much better at swimming now and seems to be a lot less scared than he was a few weeks ago which is great news. We were worried that he may have to stop going but I think it will be fine now. He is also had a much better week at school last week.

Sorry, not much news this time but still plenty of pictures for you :)

Corn maze!

This past weekend we went to a local corn maze with Jennifer, Mikayla, Ray, Sandy and Sandy's kids and grandkids. It was so much fun and only a 5 minute drive from home. Amongst other things, there was a maze of hay bales which Oliver loved walking through, a huge pit of corn which was fun to get buried in and a big slide which Oliver was brave enough to go down with daddy!! The weather was in the 80's (very unusual for this time of year) so it was warm running around with the kids but they had a great time. I'm sure Emily will be very much into it next year :)

Emily now has two teeth. The second one came along about a week after the first. I have a feeling she may be working on more but if I venture a finger in the mouth now it is likely to get bitten so I have to wait until she smiles at me ;)

Emily continues to enjoy swimming. She cried less this week than previous weeks anyway!! She only really cries when the teacher takes hold of her - she still gets upset around unfamiliar faces - but she seems to be getting used to the water now. Oliver, however, is having problems with swimming and is really scared of going at the moment. It isn't a fear of water but rather of the benches they use at the pool (they are benches that can be moved around in the water and the kids stand on them when they swim from the poolside into the middle of the water). Last week it took half of the lesson to even get him in the water :( It is swimming for him tonight so we'll see how it goes.

This past weekend we painted Oliver's bedroom. We have wanted to do it for ages but finally bought the paint which was lucky as Oliver became scared of his wallpaper so it had to come down! So now his room is bright red (he chose the colour). It looks really good and just needs a bit of touching up here and there and some new pictures for the wall.

Well, I have several new photos and videos for you so here they are to enjoy!
