Oliver is 4!

Our biggest baby turned 4 on Saturday and what a fun day we had :)) For the first time since Oliver's first birthday the sun shone and it was a perfect day. We booked a Cars bouncy castle for him which he knew nothing about until it arrived around 8am - far earlier than expected or needed but it did mean that we could have fun using it before his party in the afternoon. We spent the morning opening presents - he got so many things and I can honestly say he loved everything!! The party started at 4pm and all the kids (and some adults!) had a blast just bouncing around!! We had pizza and cake and a pinata so I think everyone had sufficient amounts of junk food ;) Oliver is loving being 4 - he has woken up every day since Saturday asking if he is still 4 and he likes to tell people that he is 4 now. Obviously in his head this is a major turning point!

I had the whole weekend off work so on Sunday afternoon we finally got the chance to take Oliver to see Cars 2. We went as a family and Emily did pretty well - I had to go outside with her after about an hour because she just didn't want to sit anymore but I thought that was good going. Oliver loved the whole movie experience and is excited to go back again sometime.

Now Oliver is spending his time playing with all his new presents. We had to buy some new storage containers as we are running out of floor space (gifts get bigger as the children do apparently!). One day I will blitz the toys again and get rid of a load but I don't want to deprive Emily of the fun! Mind you, at the moment she is happy to play with a few necklaces - put them on, take them off etc etc etc......:) She has really progressed with the stairs and can now come down on her own as well although she often likes to hold a hand to be secure.

Playing with Oliver's mobigo
Ha ha!!! The shot to embarrass at the 18th birthday party ;)
That's her best side of course :)
Where's Emily??
Daddy took his shirt off - Oliver had to do the same!
Celia, Oliver and Wesley at our weekly park playdate - and Nya rushing to get in the picture!
She made it!!
A road nearby opened last week so we went to the opening event. Oliver got his face painted for the first time :)

Eating the groceries!
New scooter
The HUGE bouncy castle
New Hot Wheels CD/Radio!! We bought a Cars CD for Oliver then realised he would want to listen to it all the time so we bought this (rather than him having to play it downstairs all the time) :)
Emily loved the bouncy castle - she went down the slide loads of times and squealed with delight. She is our adrenaline junkie!
There was even a basketball hoop inside!
At the bottom of the slide
Taking a much needed water break

Photo update!

Hi everyone!! I just wanted to put a quick photo and video update on here as I seem to have quite a few from the past few days! Not much to report here so I'll save the updates until after Oliver's birthday :)

Keeping bear safe with the seat belt
Emily has a thing about bees! I have taught her how to say "buzz" this week and she thinks it's the funniest thing ever :)
The kids (and my friend Casey's aunt) having a fab time!! This is an amazing playground and the park reserve near us.
Time for some baby table dancing!!
Loving the shirt Jameson!
The kids all dressed and ready for a boat ride

Yep, we were trying to get a grandkids picture!!! Oliver did a grand job holding a squirmy Jameson. James wasn't quite as wriggly :)

Nice new Curious George shirt. Too bad it's white -- he's wearing it today and now it has juice stains!!
Yes, she knows how to sit on the potty.......
.....and take it apart and make it play songs!!! This is mid dance - see the video below for the full effect ;)
Oliver took a picture of me with my phone! It was early and I hadn't done my hair yet - I apologise!
She loves the swings!!
The bigger kids (and Fiona!) liked sitting at this cute table to have their snacks at the park this week
I had just got her up from nap believe it or not

Children love to play in boxes!

A big weekend!

We had such a fun filled and busy weekend!! On Saturday we hosted a BBQ for the Maple Grove Moms - something which we hope will become an annual event. We had over 30 people here for the celebration and thankfully the sun was shining (it was looking a little stormy early in the day). The kids had a ball playing in the swimming pool and the playhouse and I think the adults had fun just relaxing and watching them!! It's so great when the kids can entertain each other.

On Sunday it was James' baptism. Grandma Colleen, Aunt Patty, Jamie, Jason and Jameson have all been in town visiting so there was lots of family fun to be had. Oliver in particular has really enjoyed seeing everyone - he is so sociable and chatty now :) Emily has been really good as well and definitely not as wary of different people picking her up and talking to her.

So now all the talk is about Oliver being 4 in a few weeks. We turned the calendar yesterday and I made a big deal of highlighting his special day so he knows exactly how long he has to wait! We have a party planned for the big day so keep your fingers crossed for good weather (I said good, not 100 degrees!!!).

Mmmmm - yoghurt!
Oliver with his new Thomas track set up
Funny how a 2 dollar toy can cause so much happiness (except when it breaks after a few days...)
Emily with a mysterious rash that she had for about a week (hard to see in the picture I know)
But she still had some fun at the playground
James :)

Oliver had an argument with Scoop and her lead - ouch :(
